Build the network
Establish a professional community that connects Asian American educators across New Jersey, creating opportunities for mentorship, collaboration, and mutual support among current and aspiring school leaders.

Our mission
NJAALE develops the capacity of Asian American educators to serve in senior leadership roles, and works with districts, universities, and state partners to make those pathways equitable. We are a professional association, not an adversary of the districts our members serve.

Provide professional learning, coaching, and preparation that develop the capacity of Asian American educators to serve effectively in senior leadership roles in New Jersey public schools.

Expand equitable pathways into educational leadership by working with districts, preparation programs, and search processes to identify, sponsor, and advance qualified Asian American candidates.

The representation gap
School districts in New Jersey
Asian American superintendents
Asian American superintendents in the districts with the highest Asian American enrollment
Across a state with nearly 600 school districts, only two Asian American superintendents serve, and in the districts with the highest concentrations of Asian American students, that number drops to zero.
NJAALE exists to change that, by building the professional community, leadership pipeline, and institutional advocacy that make equitable representation possible.
